A Missing View / A Slow Fade
Artist: Daniele Genadry
Type: Conceptual, Intervention, Site-specific
Daniele Genadry intervenes by placing two almost identical images side by side which allow what is – originally – a single transformation of reality to image, to be split into two simultaneous moments. It invites the viewer to witness a slow disappearing act.
Biography: Daniele Genadry (Lebanon) is interested in the failure of photographs to mediate a specific time and space. Her work considers the construction of visual experience through memory, movement and migration using various media to create and translate images of landscapes and examine how this mediation alters our perception of time and space.
